Davy designs and manufactures fully customized linear technical brushes, tailored for any type of industrial process

Davy manufactures straight strip technical brushes using natural bristles, plastic fibers, or metallic filaments. These brushes serve various purposes, including sealing applications, filtration systems and protection of sliding components along production lines.

WHAT ARE LINEAR STRIP TECHNICAL BRUSHES?

A linear or straight technical brush consists of a number of aligned tufts of filaments. These tufts can be inserted along a straight metal profile section that holds them in place—these are known as strip technical brushes — or punched into a plastic bar, in which case they are referred to as standard linear technical brushes. Within this general design, there are naturally variations to tailor the technical brush to its specific role within the production process. The most common variable is tuft density, which can be continuously distributed, thus creating a dense and thick brush for uniform coverage, or spaced in clusters with gaps, thus allowing for higher rotational speeds and reduced resistance.

Like all Davy products, linear technical brushes are fully custom-made according to the customer’s production requirements, thus ensuring perfect compatibility with their machinery and production lines.

MATERIALS OF LINEAR AND STRIP TECHNICAL BRUSHES

For the production of linear technical brushes, Davy uses only the highest-quality materials, thus ensuring high performance and long product lifespan in any industrial application. In specific applications, we can use conductive or antistatic materials, making the brushes eligible for ATEX certification when required.

BASE

The base of straight technical brushes can be made from high-strength plastic, used for standard linear brushes, galvanized steel with an aluminum sheath, used for strip brushes, thus providing a combination of mechanical performance and lightweight design.

TUFTS

All types of filaments can be used to make linear technical brushes; we will, therefore, have both models with natural hair or bristles, and with tufts made of synthetic material, or even metallic one.

APPLICATIONS OF LINEAR AND STRIP TECHNICAL BRUSHES

The very particular shape of straight technical brushes makes them particularly suitable for a specific number of tasks. The uses that are most commonly found in industry include that which uses them as obstruction elements to prevent the passage of liquids, gases or fumes, as well as dust and even noise; furthermore, they are often used as an element to contain or separate the products being processed, or as guides along the movement of the pieces on the production line, to protect particularly delicate or fragile elements. They are also ideal for cleaning conveyor belts and removing residues in general, as well as for protection against splashes of unwanted material.

THE AREAS OF USE OF LINEAR AND STRIP TECHNICAL BRUSHES

The linear or strip technical brushes have a transversal use, which makes them highly sought after by the most varied types of industries. They are very often used in sectors such as

  • The wood industry
  • The chemical industry
  • Process automation
  • The food industry
  • The textile sector
  • The window and door industry
  • The furniture industry
