Davy designs and manufactures fully customized cylindrical technical brushes, tailored for any type of industrial process

Davy manufactures cylindrical technical brushes whether in natural bristle or in plastic fibers or metal filaments, for transport, washing and polishing applications in the food, metalworking and logistics sectors.

WHAT ARE CYLINDRICAL TECHNICAL BRUSHES?

A cylindrical technical brush consists of a roller-shaped core, with its surface covered in tufts and a hollow interior, which may have through-holes or blind holes. These brushes are typically designed for mounting on rotating shafts. This specific condition makes the balancing process a crucial step in the installation of cylindrical technical brushes. Balancing is the procedure that ensures the brush roller is in perfect equilibrium, thus minimizing vibrations as much as possible. This prevents premature wear of the bearings and transmission components of the machinery, ultimately extending its operational lifespan.

In cylindrical brushes, the bristles can be arranged not only uniformly across the entire roller surface but also in a spiral pattern, which can be right-handed (clockwise), left-handed (counterclockwise), or converging/diverging towards the center. This specific bristle arrangement creates dedicated channels that guide production residues, thus allowing for precise control and direction of the waste flow along the production line.

Davy manufactures fully customized cylindrical technical brushes, designed to precisely meet the specific requirements of each customer.

MATERIALS OF CYLINDRICAL TECHNICAL BRUSHES

Davy's cylindrical technical brushes are made exclusively from high-quality materials. Upon request, they can be food-grade certified, making them suitable for use in the food industry. Additionally, when necessary, we can use antistatic or conductive materials, which can later be ATEX-certified for applications in explosive or hazardous environments.

CORE

The core of cylindrical technical brushes is typically made of plastic. The most commonly used materials include PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), Polyethylene and Polypropylene.

TUFTS

The tufts of cylindrical technical brushes can be made from natural bristles, synthetic plastic fibers or metallic filaments, depending on production requirements. In the first case pig bristles, goat hair, cowhair or horsehair can be used. In the second case, the most commonly used materials are Polypropylene, Nylon or special plastics upon request, such as PA6, PA66, or PA612. In the third case, the typical materials used are stainless steel, brass or bronze. Additionally, based on the specific application of the brush, the fibers in the tufts can be either smooth or crimped to optimize performance.

APPLICATIONS OF CYLINDRICAL TECHNICAL BRUSHES

The versatility of cylindrical roller brushes allows them to perform multiple functions within production lines. They are commonly used for washing, polishing or scrubbing of pieces, but they are often employed for lubrication and Handling and transporting fragile objects.
