Davy designs and manufactures flat technical brushes according to customized specifications, thus ensuring optimal performance for various industrial applications.

Davy manufactures flat technical brushes in all polygonal shapes, using natural bristle or plastic fibers or metal filament, for cleaning or liquid blocking applications or for creating support surfaces for delicate pieces.

WHAT ARE FLAT TECHNICAL BRUSHES?

Flat technical brushes are made by punching tufts of filaments onto a polygonal support: we will, therefore, have square, rectangular, triangular technical brushes, or any other required shape. What characterizes flat brushes is the type of movement for which they are designed, which is linear, unlike what happens in frontal technical brushes or cylindrical ones which work in a rotary direction.

Among the most important elements of variability in the design and production of flat technical brushes, the direction taken by the filaments of the punched tufts stands out. These can in fact assume all degrees of inclination, from the one perpendicular to the support to the one parallel to it, passing through all the intermediate degrees; this is particularly important in brush support surfaces, where it allows the sliding of the pieces to be directed and prevents them from moving backwards, as well as keeping them locked in position.

Like all Davy products, flat technical brushes are made entirely according to customized specifications based on the customer's production requirements, to fully adapt to their machinery and production lines.

THE MATERIALS OF FLAT TECHNICAL BRUSHES

In the manufacture of its flat technical brushes, Davy uses only the highest quality materials, so as to guarantee a solid and long-lasting product that offers excellent performance. If a customer needs ATEX certifiable brushes, antistatic and conductive materials can be used in the production to comply with the reference regulations.

BASE

The support of flat technical brushes is normally made of plastic or wood; however, in cases where particularly strict tolerances on flatness must be respected, it is possible to manufacture flat technical brushes with an aluminum support.

TUFTS

Depending on the specific industrial application, flat technical brushes must have different tuft characteristics; for this reason, models with natural bristles, or made with synthetic fibers in plastic material, or in metal filament are available.

APPLICATIONS OF FLAT TECHNICAL BRUSHES

In addition to being used in applications requiring longitudinal movements, these brushes are also employed in the manufacture of "brush tables." A brush table consists of support surfaces along production lines, where the entire surface is made up of the tufts of a large flat brush. Since the filament material can be selected according to specific needs, this method allows for the safe handling and processing of extremely fragile products, thus preventing damage, scratches, or cracks during production.

THE AREAS OF USE OF FLAT TECHNICAL BRUSHES

Developed as we have seen for the creation of support surfaces for particularly fragile products or products vulnerable to scratches, flat technical brushes prove invaluable in a large number of different sectors. Among those that require them most often, we can list:

  • Sheet Metal Industry
  • Wood Industry
  • Glass Industry
  • Packaging Industry
  • Food Industry
  • Agricultural Industry
  • Paper Industry
  • Textile Industry
